Who Has Time for This?! (I Mean That In a Good Way)
American Heritage by Ralph Fasanella(1974)
Recently, a group of us went to the American Folk Art Museum. The museum itself was very small so we were able to look at all of the Ralph Fasanella exhibit. Most of his artwork focused on American culture during the mid-20th century especially, the Red Scare. What impressed me the most about the pieces of art in the exhibit was the massive size and detail that each painting had. Lots of his paintings were bigger than me! There was so much action and movement in his paintings that it was pretty much impossible to look at them from afar. I found myself spending over 20 minutes looking at a painting just to absorb all of the details. It’s crazy to imagine how Fasanella was able to spend so much time and detail into one piece of art.
