As We Sit in an Empty Movie Theatre

I would have much preferred not to have to write my final thoughts on this class because its an all too real confirmation that this class is, in fact, ending. But I guess if I must…

Needless to say, this was an amazing class. It taught me so many things, such as climate change statistics, computer programs, and copyrighting, to name a few. But more than the factual things that I’ve gained, I would say that this class helped me grow as a person. In the few weeks that we’ve met, I’ve grown to learn so much about myself and the people around me.

I don’t really know what to say. I’m not all that good with goodbyes.

To Professor Pearl:

Thank you for guiding us through the first semester of a long journey ahead of us. Thank you for being so patient and encouraging to us when we’ve fallen short. You’ve taught us to see the positive aspect in everything around us, and you’ve helped us learn to appreciate the beauty and hope when all seems bleak. You always have something constructive to say, and that optimism and faith goes a long way. You’ve been strong for us, and that strength has inspired me to keep going as well. All I can really say is thank you. Thank You.

Also, thank you Ben for helping us with all of our technology questions!

To the class:

So the real reason why the empire state building can’t have any children is because it…ha just kidding. Um, well it was really great getting to know you guys. I came to the Macaulay program not knowing anyone, and it can be hard starting over and learning to open yourself up to new people. But I can say that this has been one of the simpler transitions, probably because I’ve been blessed with such an amazing group of people in my class. I look forward to working with you, getting to know you more, and torturing you with corny jokes in the future. :D

I’ll really miss being with everyone and going on fun trips together. I’ll miss reading all of your blog posts and discussing Squarzoni with all of you. But time takes what wishes cannot return. All we can do is treasure the memories that we still have, and continue to make more.
