A Wonderful Ending
Much like many, I was looking forward to going to the opera from the beginning of the semester. Going to dinner before was extremely fun because we all got to spend some time with each other before we said our goodbyes later that night. Thank you Professor Perl for treating us to a wonderful night.
It was my first time going to the Met and oh my God, it was beautiful. Once I was inside, I loved our seats and the view we had. The music the orchestra was playing was amazing. I used my binoculars to look at the performers and watched them attentively play. It must be really stressful to play perfectly. Once the play started, I was really grateful for the subtitles in front of us. It made the show so much more enjoyable. Throughout the play, I was confused on some parts of the plot because they were not part of the original story. For example, Hansel and Gretel has a stepmother and who is the sandman? I also really enjoyed the pictures they had. The dinner plates could help but remind me of Squarzoni’s tipping point and the infamous picture of the tipping plate. The world is a circle and everything came together beautifully in the end as a complete circle this semester.
This class was a very refreshing and fun class. We grew together as a class, experienced great things, and reached new heights that I thought I would never ever reach. In the last few months, I’ve made wonderful memories that will never forget. This is all thanks to Professor Perl, Ben, and my classmates. Thank you everyone for an amazing time!
