Art Is In Progress ; Art Is Complete

This was one of the construction sites that were building apartments around the Highline. I feel as though the construction was art in progress because once the building is complete, it will add to the overall artistic nature around that area.

This picture reminds me of art that is complete. It was a remake of the iconic WWII soldier returning home and kissing a lady. But no matter how the artist changes the color or filtering, it is the same picture because it is so iconic. It always going to represent the era of WWII and the joy at the end of it.

Your observations were very beautiful. I found it interesting that although we were surrounded by nature, you chose two pieces of urban life. That is thinking out of the box! Good for you!

I think this is amazing. I was also looking at the construction work as we walked through the path and wondering how to relate it to “Art is..” I think you found the perfect way and I really like your contrasts. The picture you chose for art is complete is beautiful, it just screams happy, joyful, and vibrant.

The moment I saw the title of this post, I thought to myself “Damn, I was about to do something with the photos of those construction sites” but after reading your post, I realized that you have done an amazing work with these photos because I would have never thought of these two photos to be opposite in terms of completion. I really like how you wrote about the background of the iconic photo from WWII because I did not know about it. Thanks for that.
