Quartett
Submitted by Ross Meneses on Sat, 11/21/2009 - 21:09
Tantalizingly Bizarre. Those two words sum up how i felt about Heiner Muller's Quartett. After a weeks worth of anticipatory class room discussion based on texts, I was looking forward to seeing the beast itself live on stage.
At first it was a bit jarring, and I struggled to make sense of it all between the captions and all the eccentric activity on stage.
Alexander String Quartet
Submitted by Jerrica Williams on Sat, 11/21/2009 - 18:25Baruch College has a recital hall. That was probably the most shocking news I heard all year. I thought maybe the concert was just be in a room where they just happened to set up music stands. I had no idea we had an actual hall. When I saw this hall, it actually gave me hope as a Weismenn major. Sometimes the school focuses so much on Zicklin, it seems they lose sight of everyone else. So, seeing this recital hall, I already went into this concert with a positive attitude. Each of the three sections composed of beautiful music.
Madison Square Park
Submitted by itzkevinn on Fri, 11/20/2009 - 23:25Before last Tuesday when I visited the Madison Square Park, I had no idea what the park contained other than shake shack. I've walked through the park only once in my whole life before Tuesday, but I never really took the time to stop and look at the statues and sculptures and other forms of art within the park. As I walked through the park, I realized the beauty of nature that surrounded the park. There were tons of trees in all different colors along with tons of grass. There was a circle of water which I was confused about because I didn't know what it was there for, it was just there.
