The Flea is a beautiful space in downtown Manhattan between Church St. and Broadway on White Street. When I was contemplating seeing another off-off- Broadway show (I went to see this two days after I saw “September 12th”) I was completely unprepared for the simple yet elegant decor of the Flea. In short, it’s beautiful. Although the space itself is very small, the setup offers an intimate yet professional setting.
America Lovesexdeath is unlike any other currently shown in this City. First off, it is a mime show (and a very interesting one at that). Performed by “Billy the Mime” (who has made an appearance in “the Aristocrats”), America Lovesexdeath is a compilation of many short sketches mimed to perfection. My personal favorites were “Romance” and “JFK Jr. We Hardly Knew Ye.” I refuse to elaborate any further so as to not ruin any surprises, so, I’ll just let the clip below speak for itself. Tickets were $35.00; I did not look into any discounts because my ticket was a gift.
Good night, and enjoy the show,
