I am an American student who will be studying abroad for Fall 2014 at London Metropolitan University. I enjoy reading, sleeping, and other highly energetic activities.

In this blog I hope to document my experiences over the next four months including culture shocks, stereotypes, and warm beer.

I decided to go to London because of my interests in philosophy and theory aka Old White Men. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, they all really liked England. Coincidence or not,  they all produced some interesting things. Although it has been a couple of years since John Locke or Francis Bacon, I would love to see what it’s all about.

I am also interested in England’s pedagogy. Pursuing a career in alternative education and politics, it will be great to see how a country renowned for its education, organizes its schools and universities. Additionally, it will be interesting to live in a country with a different political system and see how that affects every day life.

I also hear they have nice Harry Potter souvenirs.

Sherlock Holmes, too.
