Staten Island’s Experience with Hurricane Sandy: The Reality of Sea Level Rise was created by Francesco Abbatemarco, Marwa Amin, Thomas Bossert,
Melissa Poggioli, and Christian Spallino from the home campus of The College of Staten Island. To collect our data, we conducted a survey that asked Staten Island residents about the damage they received from Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and the precautionary measures they put into place. After reading our project, we hope people will better understand the dramatic impact sea level rise is going to have on our world. We need to come together as a community to prepare and adapt before it is too late. Everyone can help whether they decide to advocate for change or spread awareness.
