The researchers investigated whether data collected from rat studies could be compared to human responses. The research project focuses on trying to determine if the rat model can actually be compared to human scales when it comes to studying stroke. The rat model is used in various studies, and over the past 60 years many treatments and experiments have been based on the collected data.  The two scales used to compare are the NDS and the NIS. The NDS is a scale used for measuring the impact of induced strokes on rats, while the NIS is used for measuring the physically impairments resulting from strokes in humans. The poster presents the data collected and the analysis and conclusion reached by the researchers when it comes to answering the question of whether or not the two scales can even be compared in Ischemic stroke study.
