Correlation between Human Population and Size and the Population of Blue Jays

NYC’s population is vastly different than that of Long Island so how would that affect the population of wildlife?

My project focuses on how human population size and density can affect the population of wildlife. I decided to choose Blue Jays because they are the most common backyard bird in New York State.

  1. Hey Suha, I love your poster! It’s funny that Kings County has such a high average in blue jay sightings — I live in Kings County and I see blue jays fairly often (especially in the summer). It would be interesting to see this data broken down even further into community districts, as counties are fairly large and population densities differ. The population density is a bit lower where I live, and that may contribute to my personal experience with blue jay sightings.
