Spaces of Cultural Affinity

We combined the best elements of our mini magazine projects that reflected our journey throughout Seminar 1 into a collective poster exploring our cultural spaces of affinity, the Uptown Triennial, and key places of artistic fervor.

The Park and the People

Discover the untold story of Seneca Village, a thriving 19th-century African American community that was demolished to make way for Central Park. The demolition of this space lead to the erasure of African American communities and history. Thanks to that, we were able to discover stories of perseverance, community, and the fight against injustice.

The Stories of US!!

For our STEAM presentation, we decided to display our identity webs. Our identity can tell our story, it informs who we are. Parts of our identity are inherent within us, no matter how much we’d try to distance ourselves, and other aspects we choose to take on.

Our Monument

In envisioning our monument, our goal was to encapsulate an overlooked facet of life in New York, forging a unique representation that resonates with the often unnoticed narratives within the city.

Archaeology in NYC

Come with us to a short trip to the Repository in NYC! This project highlights three main artifacts that were shown during the trip and can be connected back to modern-day NYC! It will be a trip to the past, but shows the progression of our beloved city, New York!
