Flushing, Queens

Flushing, founded in 1644, is a neighborhood in the north central part of the of Queens.

==Borders==

The neighborhood of Flushing extends from the Van Wyck Expressway eastwards to Utopia Parkway. The Long Island Expressway borders the south and the neighborhood stretches northwards to Bayside Avenue and the Whitestone Expressway.

However, the Asia town of Flushing is centered around its commercial area outlined in red.

Westwards of College Point Blvd are factories and highways which won’t be focused on in our studies of the Asia towns. Outside the red borders are mostly residential areas. Although most of our studies will focus inside the red borders, perhaps those studying gentrification may want to venture into the residential areas for further research.
