Sweatshop Poets

The sweatshop Poets started showing up around the 1890’s to the 1900’s. They were the first group of Yiddish poets in America.  The main Poets that were involved in this movement were Morris Rosenfeld, Morris Winchevsky, and David Edelstadt. The poets were mostly working class immigrants. They discussed everyday life in America and were a very politically active group. Most of the poets had to work 10 to 12 hours a day. They described a want of change in the lives they had in America.
