As some of you have noticed we now have a “Who We Are” page on our site. As the page’s name implies, it tells the world a little something about each of you. Unfortunately, for many of you this consists of a difficult to understand username and a picture of a monster. To update this information, you will need to update your profile on the Macaulay social network.
== Go to Edit Profile Screen ==
The first thing you will need to do is to go to the Edit Profile screen. To do this first click on the “Macaulay Social” link on the upper left hand corner of the dashboard.
Next click on the “edit” link in the first bullet point of the Macaulay Social admin panel.
== Change your display name ==
When each one of you creates or created your account on the Macaulay Eportfolio system you are asked to provide a username. In most cases it’s best to provide something that is easily recognizable like the first letter of your first name plus your last name ( mporter) or your first name and last name seperated by an underscore (michael_porter). In some cases, though, people choose to provide a more esoteric user name such as crazyguy436 or knicksfannumber1. Problem is that when an instructor is trying to grade your assignment, he or she has no idea who you are.
That is why when using the eportfolio system it’s always a good idea to set your full name. To do this go to the “Edit Profile” screen (see above) scroll to the bottom until you see the fielld “Full Name.” Enter your full name here (both first and last), and then click “Save Changes”.
==Update Bio and other information ==
In addition to your fullname, there are a number of other fields in the edit profile screen. Any information you enter into these fields will appear in our “Who We Are” page. You can enter even more personal information by clicking “More About Me …” link.
==Change your avatar==
In addition to entering personal information, you will most likely want to change your avatar. To do this click on the “Change Avatar” button on the “Edit Profile” screen.
