Contes D’Hoffman may have changed your view of opera, and I know some of you really want to have another chance in the opera house– well, your wishes are heard and now you can probably see more! Macaulay has been offered a limited number of free tickets for two rehearsals at the Metropolitan Opera– first-come, first-served.
The first is Wednesday, November 3, at 11 AM. This is a unique opportunity, because it’s a “working” or “stop-and-go” rehearsal of Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, where the director and cast will be working closely with one segment of the opera, polishing and shaping. To sign up for this one, students should go to: http://macaulay.cuny.edu/rsvp/?q=node/392
The second is Monday, January 17, at 11 AM. This is during the January break, on Martin Luther King Day. This one is a final dress rehearsal, just like the “real thing,” of Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra. To sign up for this one, students should go to: http://macaulay.cuny.edu/rsvp/?q=node/393
