New ASN Clothing design

28 03 2012

ASN clothing released a new outfit in t-shirt and crewneck form. It’s on sale along with What the Pho? and Ninja Please until the 30th.

I really like the design this time! The quote is really neat. =D

Paul “PK” Kim and Kollaberation

20 03 2012

Meet Paul “PK” Kim, the founder of “an arts and entertainment nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting positive and accurate perceptions of Asians and Pacific Islanders.” This is done by allowing young artists to show their talent. Known as Kollaberation, this program opened in 2000 in Los Angeles and is currently hosting 15 shows across 13 cities in North America. Paul Kim himself is a comedian. He feels that laughter is the best remedy to remove stress for a while.

First episode of Legend of Korra out

18 03 2012

Hey guys, the first episode of Avatar: The Legend of Korra is out.

Link is here.

The actual series will be out on April 14, about three weeks from now. It will star Korra, the new avatar after Aang. It takes place after Aang’s reign, and Korra will be learning airbending from Aang’s son, Tenzin.

Megan Lee and Mike Choi

12 03 2012

The following is a song from Megan Lee and her friend Mike Choi.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYHOlioOcu4&h=350&w=450]

It’s such a nice song, and the harmony works so well… too bad I don’t know Korean… good thing there’s subtitles, though it’s slightly difficult to read at times. Ah well.

Mike Choi also has his own channel, but he only has one song up and one introductory video. I’m sure he will succeed in the future. =)

Update on Invisible Children

9 03 2012

First off, this link leads to the response from Invisible Children regarding many of the issues brought up.

My favorite quote from the article: “credibility in the eyes of policymakers, fellow non-profit workers, LRA-affected communities, and YOU is our most important asset, so we would like to encourage you, if you have critiques, to get specific: find facts, dig deeper, and we’ll gladly continue the conversation from there. If encountering something you disagree with, suggest an alternative to what we are doing- and we will absolutely take heed. If it’s a matter of opinion, taste, humor, or style: we apologize, and will have to agree to disagree. As the poet Ke$ha says, ‘we are who we are.'”

Next, I was able to find a video made by Wong Fu Productions back in 2005. The music video is pretty interesting, and it’s amazing how they tried to raise awareness of this issue in Uganda even back then. Look where they are now!

Yes, Kony must be stopped. The ways to employ it may vary, but we shall see how this unfolds as time goes on.

KONY 2012

6 03 2012

Now, this is something that I saw that I felt needed true awareness. If you have 30 minutes free (which I’m sure many of you are due to procrastination), you may as well spend it by watching this video.

River Flows In Your Wedding Dress

5 03 2012

Nope, you didn’t read that wrong. It’s a collaboration of two popular songs mashed together: Wedding Dress (Taeyang) and River Flows With You (Yiruma).

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vHblMjqJfs&h=350&w=450]

And just to note, it’s one person who’s playing, with the use of massive video effects. Quite nicely done.

Skillful Swordsman

2 03 2012

The following is a video of Isao Machii using a katana to cut a pellet that is insanely small.

How he does it is still inconceivable… the sword just came out and cut the pellet so quickly and so smoothly as well!
