This section delineates the different areas of Greek and Greek-influenced commerce in Astoria. Diners, restaurants, the popularity of Greek food, banks, gift shops and food stores all contribute to the economic landscape of this Queens neighborhood. Business is a very important part of Astoria. Since many Greek immigrants have since moved out to different areas, Astoria remains a Greek center of commerce rather than a residential hub for these people. As such, its commerce is the central focus.
