Burmese women gather to celebrate the 100 year aniversary of International Women’s Day in March 8th, 2011.
Every March 8th in Russia, most men give women flowers, chocolates, and Hallmark-type cards to show their appreciation for them. During this day, daughters, co-workers, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, and pretty much every woman in a man’s life gets some sort of gift to show his appreciation for the women in his life.
Women’s Day began, and continues to be a day for women to not only celebrate what they have achieved throughout their years of hard work and dedication, but a day for women to remember to fight for equal and fair treatment.
