The Future of New York

New York’s destined to get only bigger, taller and flashier. For starters, more than thirty luxury high rise towers are going to be built in Manhattan within the next ten years. We’ve already seen some of the first of this sudden high-rise trend with the new 432 Park Ave building. Brace yourselves, that’s only the beginning.

A 26-acre area on the West Manhattan along the Hudson River is being  redeveloped into an entire new neighborhood where before was little more than a rail yard. Cornell← Cornell’s building an enormous campus on Roosevelt Island.

Socially, Mayor DeBlasio plans to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2050, diverting all waste from landfills by 2030, pull 10% of the population out of poverty, raise the minimum wage and somehow create 5 million jobs at the same time.

And that’s just a sample of how much change is coming.
