An Inside Look on Mobile Food Enterprises…
One of the greatest melting pots in the nation, New York City is home to immigrants of varying cultures. With these cultures come interesting cuisines from all across the globe. For our ethnography, we decided to take a closer look into the food culture of New York City, specifically street vendors. By interviewing vendors, we hoped to shed light on their stories. We were able to explore their individual journeys, from their reasons for migrating, to starting up their businesses.

Chloe Chai is a Biochemistry major, attending the Macaulay Honors Program at CCNY. Chloe enjoys sports, movies, and eating noodles and waffles. Chloe also loves going on new adventures.
Pooja Dutta is currently a freshman at the Macaulay Honors Program at CCNY. Currently majoring in Biology. Pooja has a passion for dance and is currently part of the dance team. Pooja also enjoys shopping and dancing.
Shateesh Bhugwansing is a freshman at the Macaulay Honors Program at CCNY, majoring in Electrical Engineering. Shateesh loves trying out new foods and tinkering. In his free time, Shateesh likes to play soccer and rugby.
Michele Hu is a freshman, majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the Macaulay Honors Program at CCNY. Michele has a passion for photography, and enjoys playing soccer and lacrosse. Michele also loves to travel to new places.
Libby Ho is a freshman at the Macaulay Honors Program at CCNY. Libby intends on majoring in Biomedical Engineering. She loves to eat, sleep, read, and travel. When not doing any of those, Libby enjoys long walks in the park.
Kashaf Khatri is a freshman at the Macaulay Honors Program at CCNY. Although she is undecided, she aspires to be a neurologist in the future. Kashaf loves to shop, and one day hopes to travel the world.
