Phil’s Steak is located in front of NYU’s Gould Plaza at the intersection of West 4th St. and Greene St; at least when we found them. During the week, this unique truck, known as “Lil Jawn” makes it’s way along Park Ave., Madison Ave, and the Financial district during lunch hours (11:00AM-2:00PM) before making their way to the NYU location for dinner time (3:00PM-7:00PM). This truck is the only truck in New York that offers authentic Philly cheesesteaks with ingredients directly from the parent city. Phil’s is regarded as one of the best establishments to get a Philly cheesesteak from in New York, although it is also popular amongst NYU students for its fries. Phil’s Steak has been operating since 2012.
