Forest Hills is a unique neighborhood. It has progressed tremendously throughout the decades. Not only has it become more diverse in its population, but the neighborhood has maintained a steady economy. Forest Hills has balanced its newcomers with its native residents and there have not been any disputes. One issue, the Bukharian housing, seems to be minor and under control. The Council's Land Use Committee along with the City Planning Department is working on establishing new zoning regulations. If the policies pass, the size of new houses built in the Cord Meyer area of Forest Hills will be limited. Evidently, there is a misunderstanding of cultures. Perhaps the policies will ease the tension, but I think the Land Use Committee should also organize an open discussion between Bukharian residents and the rest of the Forest Hills residents (who are complaining). Through open discussion, they can better understand one another.
