As our world becomes increasingly industrialized, it is important that we do not overlook all the small insects and animals that make up our environment. Ladybugs, or Lady Beetles, are important for keeping crops and vegetation safe from aphids and play a great role in maintaining ecological balance. We decided to see if there was a difference in the amount and the diversity of Lady Beetles in Urban areas of New York State, compared to Rural areas, to see if urbanization/industrialization has had any impact on how many Lady Beetles we see.
