Our collective project combines various overlooked, yet essential aspects of NYC life that we wanted to highlight. Our group members have delved into a number of topics, ranging from addressing the social issues pertaining to the working class, exploring the significance of cultural food, underscoring the necessity for efficient infrastructure and green spaces, to tackling challenging topics like expectations. The commonality of these projects is that we are all united by the same experiences and are passionate about bringing change to the community. Our main takeaway is that we would love the audience to understand the issues we have identified prominent in our community, and hopefully spreading awareness about these under acknowledged issues will spur discussion and viable change. The process of choosing these topics was that we all decided to choose a topic that was either personal to us or something that always lingered on the back of our minds. The Zine was a reflective period of inspecting and communicating our thoughts , which this prompt allowed us to do.
