This presentation touches on how Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo’s music relate to the theme of modern love. We decided to focus on specific songs and lyrics that we felt were particularly representative of this theme. We related the ideas and behaviors discussed in these lyrics to relationships today, and even connected Swift and Rodrigo’s music to each other to emphasize the relationship between modern and older love. We grew up listening to Taylor Swift and have become big fans of Olivia Rodrigo in light of her recent popularity, so we felt this topic was not only approachable, but really personal to us.
