In order to illustrate how different cultures coexist in New York City and to emphasize the city’s primary value of diversity, our project combines two art forms from Trinidad and Bangladesh. I had a nakshi kantha which is a blanket or quilt traditionally made from Bangladesh. My partner Raheem had calypso music which comes from Trinidad. With our art forms, we created an event that highlights both art forms, called Nakshi Calypso.
