We created a festival to celebrate the artistic cultures of Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Specifically, we incorporated a musical aspect from Kazakhstan with the Dombra and the crafting portion from Ukraine with Vytynanky. We wanted people to experience the diversity within art and learn how to play/create art forms that may be foreign to them. In analyzing our information and completing our work, we watched several videos on both artworks along with reading research on the art’s history to make sure we were prepared to not only speak on and create it, but also to be able to make a mashup of the two art styles.
