In my project I go over the history of Rococo art and its characteristics. I also look at various examples of Rococo art such as the work from Jean Fragonard and discuss how rococo art encapsulates opulent, carefree and hedonistic lifestyles that the wealthy class of France attained at the time. Then I briefly go over the history of Art Deco and explain how it also represents this rich and lavish lifestyle and how art deco art is supposed to be incorporated into functional structures, such as in buildings and exterior and interior design. In my project, I compare and contrast the both and show that even though they both have different functions, they both share the sentiment that art imitates the values of life.
