Promotion & Tenure Document Management System
Using Sakai, we have developed a system of document storage and management for promotion and tenure files. This allows candidates or their department chairs or other authorized persons to upload materials to various personnel, administrative, and other file storage areas. Rights are carefully controlled, so that only appropriate persons can view or edit various types of materials, and so that materials are secure and private. Materials are stored on our own servers, located in the Library, and are well-secured, physically and virtually. This system will allow authorized personnel to review the vast bulk of tenure and promotion related material from any location, rather than forcing them to spend time in a locked room reviewing paper files. Only books, whole CDs, etc. cannot be uploaded, for copyright reasons.
