Overdue Annotated Bibliography 3
This news article is a brief piece on a rejected Gowanus Canal building proposal put forth by Lightstone. The author, Jessica Dailey, details the specifics of the proposal, the reasons for rejection, and public reactions. She seems to favor the project but only slightly as she most surely strives for objectivity as it is a news and not opinion article. Dailey, a freelance journalist, is writing to the general public and not a scholarly academic crowd. Her article is strong in its maintenance of objectivity and straightforward delivery of information. The piece addresses both the social aspect of sustainability and the environmental, attributing potential affordable housing and environmental cleanup as effects of the proposed building. The information is relevant to our project because we will need to know about development plans in the area, among other things.
