Change in Flowering Plants in Queens & Long Island Over Time

How does time affect New York City’s biodiversity? This infographic presents how flowering trees and plants have decreased/increased over twenty years and what contributed to these changes.

Group Members: Olivia Hagan, Sukveer Kaur, Sarah Marmol, Joya Pariyal

The number of flowering plants and trees vary based on location. Our group looked into the quantities of flowering trees and plants in Long Island and Queens and determined some causes of the differences. The main causes for the difference are the amount of insects and efforts to increase tree populations across New York City such as the Million Trees NYC Project.
