My Project is a Video combining a slideshow presentation describing my connection to opera, opera as an art form and an opera called Pagliacci as well as a performance of me singing O Colombina, a song from the opera that I conclude speaking about in the presentation. What I want people to take away is to understand the art form of Opera and how it is similar to more art forms than people think and for people to potentially start thinking about singing, which is an art form that any one with a voice can do and it is one of those forms that once you do it, it becomes addicting to be on a stage and perform. I chose this topic right away as I knew since I did Opera in high school that it was an art form that I knew a lot about and I could also make the presentation multimedia by creating a slideshow presentation which is my favorite method to articulate what I want to say as well as showcase the fact that I sing as getting a performing arts I know give me a unique experience and I wanted to showcase that to my fellow peers. I felt nostalgia completing my work as I sung a song that I haven’t sung in a while and despite the 4 years of high school making singing exhausting the process to create the art piece was not because I missed this process. I also liked exploring Opera as an art form because as a student, I really enjoy learning something new even about an art form that I’ve had multiple years gaining experience and knowledge in.
