My earliest memories of my grandfather are of him singing tango lyrics to my grandmother in the kitchen while preparing breakfast for us. While my grandparents and parents were raised directly in the culture of Tango, my sister and I, who were born in the United States, only have and know certain aspects of the culture of Tango. However, despite our physical distance from tango in Argentina, it is still prevalent in our lives, and by taking a deeper dive into its history, I was able to learn so much more about where and whom tango stems from, only increasing my appreciation for the art form.
