In this project we explored the uses of the lotus plant, or Nelumbo nucifera. From pharmaceuticals that treat cancer and HIV to growing neurons and bone cells in the stems and roots, this one plant has benefits that could revolutionize modern medicine and biology.

After extensive research on the cultural art styles we decided to combine Vytynanky and the Dombra by creating an event where people would indulge in making a papercut design to apply on to the Dombra. The event will finish off with everyone playing beginner songs with the Dombras they designed with Vytynanky.

Thanks to that, we were able to discover stories of perseverance, community, and the fight against injustice.
