As time passes, many changes are occurring in the Astoria neighborhood that makes the area more assimilated and culturally diverse, like so many other areas in the United States. As these changes occur though, the ethnic institutions and associations are neither on the rise or decline. With the new cultures and ethnicities creeping into the area, the Greeks stay as they always were, strong, proud, and loud. The schools, churches and other institutions stay where they are and with high attendance rates like always. These institutions are just as important to the Greek community in Astoria as they were before the influx of other cultures into this once predominately Greek neighborhood.
