The Ethnikos Kyrix, one of the first and the last surviving daily Greek American newspaper published in the United States, will be celebrating its hundredth anniversary next year. It is based in New York, where its fiercest competitor used to be the Atlantis. Around 1997, with Greek fluency dropping in the second and third generation Greek-Americans, the company began publishing a weekly english sister newspaper named the The National Herald. It is currently one of the most important newspaper for the Greek Americans, where together with the Greek daily newspaper, has around 80,000 readers. Greeks all over the world are also now able to access the news in both Greek and English. Its current publisher is Antonis Diamataris1.
