banner1The Archdiocesan Cultural Center in Astoria, NY promotes Hellenistic tradition and heritage 1. They provide activities contributing to the promotion of Cultural, ethnic, and religious identity for Greek Americans. There are high quality events and community activities. They have also hosted many concerts and musical groups. They have a Byzantine bookstore and free Byzantine Music lessons. It also has Greek dancing lessons.

2Saint Demetrios Cathedral is a warm and welcoming Greek Orthodox church in Astoria 2.

This is the greeting on their website-

“We extend to you a warm and heartfelt Christian welcome. Our parish is dedicated to imitating the love and faithfulness of Jesus Christ by sharing the gospel with our words and living it with our lives. We seek to strengthen and encourage one another in the faith so that we may be equipped to welcome many more into our family as fellow disciples of Jesus Christ.”

There is also a school associated with the church.

Se  greek.jpgThe Greek Cultural Center is a non-profit organization that opened in 1947 3. It helps preserve Greek culture and language through the arts and art education. It offers “theater, music, folk dance, shadow Puppet Theater, and workshops for all ages.” It educated Greek s about their roots and traditions.
