QCC Connect utilizes CampusM to take mobile to the next level

Queensborough Community College brought a student centric mobile app to life by integrating the CUNYfirst unique person identifier (EMPLID) into locally managed systems such as Active Directory, ID card (Blackboard Transact) and managed student printing (Pharos). The native app provides authenticated access to personal information such as ID card account balances, print credits, unread student email alerts, personalized adviser information and weekly course schedules, including classroom location information. Other key features include live PC Availability, Talk to Us – a responsive email/phone support module and subscription based personalized and group push notifications. The platform infrastructure relies on a hybrid of cloud and local server technology. While all personal data is secured by the campus network the configuration, branding, layout, etc. is on the cloud. The app extension kit allows for building of custom modules using standards based HTML5, PHP and web services. The backend app manager provides granular customizable access levels allowing for easy distribution of content management to various department personnel. Users can provide feedback on a variety of categories, which are also customizable. Analytics include detailed traffic statistics per menu option.
