Embed Images
Why? “A picture is worth a thousand words,” the saying goes. Embedding relevant images in your post not only provides visual interest and but can guide readers’ attention as well as their understanding of the textual or audio information that the image complements. Images provide the viewer with information in yet another medium.
How? You can embed an image in to your post in a variety of ways. Here are links to instructions:
- From Flickr
- From an image file on your computer — note: we recommend that you reduce the file size of the image/photo. You can use Preview to reduce the file size, or using the free Mac app JPEGmini Lite.
Editing & Layout. There are programs designed specifically for editing images. Gimp is installed on your computer. You can find a few others here. But WordPress gives you a few options for size and placement. You can find them by hovering over the image and clicking on the pencil icon. Here are some more instructions.
