Literary Journalism in Soccer: November 13th at the Macaulay Building

The Macaulay Messenger is proud to co-sponsor the panel discussion, Literary Journalism in Soccer, moderated and organized by Daniel Pecoraro (Hunter ’14) on Wednesday, November 13th at the Macaulay building at 5:45 PM.

The event will include panelists Roger Bennett and Grant Wahl, who will discuss techniques and styles used in covering soccer journalism and its growth in the United States, the relationship between politics and sports, and the politics within soccer’s organizing bodies. This event will be followed by a question and answer session. This event is open to all CUNY students, faculty, staff, and alumni, but space is limited (capacity is only 72 people). Roger Bennett is a columnist for ESPN FC and Grantland. He is also a co-host of the “Men in Blazers” podcast.

Grant Wahl is a columnist for Sports Illustrated and has written the book, The Beckham Experiment, based on the acquisition by the LA Galaxy of soccer superstar David Beckham in 2007 and its impact. The Beckham Experiment became a New York Times bestseller.
