Hello class,

Here is a link to vote for the opera. I did not do a good job explaining the plot of Magic Flute in class and when you read the synopsis for it you’ll see why – it’s extremely convoluted and there’s a ton of small plot points, but it is basically a fairy tale opera about an evil queen, a prince, love, and a variety of magical creatures.

You can click on the blue-texted links to go to the Met’s page for each opera and then be sure to click on the link that says “read synopsis” to get a full blow-by-blow of the plot (with spoilers!). You can also check out this page of videos from the Met, which can be sorted by opera.

I’m going to offer a couple workshops in the next few weeks on Mac basics (as well as some of the programs that you have), and if you can’t make one of these workshops, please email me and let’s schedule a time to meet and chat. I want you to really feel like you “know” your laptops and that you can do anything you want to do. These are not required. We will cover things like basic navigation, preferences pane, keyboard shortcuts, installing programs, iPhotos and iTunes, Dropbox, Preview, and Time Machine backups, as well as any specific questions you might have.

  • Selecting a workshop constitutes a commitment to attend. Please email Jake if you need to cancel PRIOR to the workshop. Workshops will last approximately 45-60 minutes.

Also, if you ever have a specific skill or program that you’d like to get better at, especially if it’s related to WordPress sites or ePortfolios, please feel free to just ask me and I’m happy to help out. My office hours, again, are Wednesday 12-2 in 137 E25th st., room 306 (building to the left of the library).
