Vaccinate: You Can Be Selfish and Altruistic

What are vaccines, again?
Just as a Recap: Vaccines expose you to a virus or bacteria in an attempt to create antibodies to fight off those specific infections. The production of these antibodies keeps a person from getting sick from a particular virus or bacteria. Vaccines are created by disabling a virus or bacteria so they are unable to cause disease but still prompt the your body to make antibodies.
Many vaccines offer lifelong protection (the measles, mips, and rubella (MMR) vaccine; poliovirus vaccines). Others require additional boosters during teenage and adult years (pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus).

So… why should I vaccinate?

Save Time and Money

~Unvaccinated children can be denied acceptance to schools.
~Vaccine-preventable diseases can result in lost time at work and large medical bills.
~Vaccines are usually covered by insurance and a good investment!
5 – Future Generations
