As COVID-19 continues to spread, it is important to understand how confounding factors, such as air quality, can affect the rates of respiratory illness in communities in NYC.
Our project explores the effect of COVID-19 lockdowns in New York City on the uploads made to iNaturalist, an online network for sharing biodiversity information.
We analyze how the pandemic affected us students mentally and try to understand which groups were most affected. Let’s just say some results were interesting!
As of May 2018, the FDA has established new nutrition labelling legislation to require restaurants to post calorie content for each menu item. This has been done in an effort to encourage people to make more health conscious food choices, and indirectly prevent obesity. In this project, we researched the effectiveness of nutrition labeling on menus.
Since March, we have been advised to stay at home to reduce the effects of the Coronavirus. We studied how the physical activity and health of adults in the United States have been affected as a result.
