The LGBTQ Caribbean diaspora is a group that is often excluded when research is done on the Caribbean diaspora. While the state of LGBTQ issues in the Caribbean is well documented and researched, the LGBTQ diaspora has not gotten the same attention. This section examines the reasons why LGBTQ Caribbean immigrate, and the identity issues of the LGBTQ Caribbean diaspora in regards to how they overcome discrimination and their connection to their Caribbean identity.
