Taryn Watkins

This section focuses on religion, specifically Rastafarianism, has established itself as an identifying characteristic within the Caribbean diaspora. Many of the traditions associated with Rastafarianism – including diet, healing practices, and music – can be seen within the community of Flatbush, and the Rasta way of life is also beginning to be a part of the mainstream. I found that this way of life is interesting to explore, especially in how it presents itself in today’s culture.
