Parks have always been a part of people’s lives. However, the history of our parks is not so clean and bright, as Jane Jacobs’ book argues—because of their presence in the eyes of an architect’s establishment for a growth in surrounding values, some actually are used and diverse places for numerous uses.
This project will seek to investigate the lotus flower through several methodologies — reconciling its medicinal and nutritional profile with its storied cultural history to understand its ubiquity across distinct cultures and regions.
