"As the article highlighted, even though the government seems to be putting in place measures to solve this economic disparity in the country (or so we are made to believe), things only seem to be getting worse. The economic gap between the rich and poor keeps widening, and the sad part is that majority of America's residents are the poor and middle class. This, as said by Porter, accounts for several of the problems in the country such as graduation rates and in turn economic success, infant mortality rate and the list goes on and on. If effective measures are put in place to close this economic gap, I believe that most of this country problems may cease to exist; but then again this may never be achieved, at least not in the direction things are going as of now."

"I think the author makes a compelling point when she says "young people[Asians] who don’t “make it” are made to feel like failures and under-achievers, often leading them to isolate themselves from their ethnic communities and reject their ethnic identities." This is very true because it is as if society has defined a criteria and pushes all Asians forcefully into it. As a result, the "black sheep" who are unable to fit into this criteria have no choice but to reject their identity. This poses a major problem to such kids as it becomes as if they have been stripped off their identity due to no fault on their part."

"As a new yorker who frequently roams the city, i use several subway lines and I have noticed stark differences between the type of people on the different subways lines, and even the type of people that get off and on at the different stops. This information is definitely an interesting one"

"I like this idea. Especially for immigrants whose generations have been in the city for a while and witnessed how it has changed over the years. They may have exciting prospects for the city'"
