Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, bee populations were falling and bees were increasingly in danger of being wiped out. Over the course of the pandemic. However, there has been a notable increase in the bee populations in New York City compared to pre-pandemic levels. Our goal was to find the reasons for this increase and find ways for local residents to aid this resurgence and prevent the bee populations from falling again.

I think your project name and idea is very creative! To be honest, I always thought bees were widespread and had no idea their numbers were falling pre-pandemic. Although mentioned in your hypothesis, I can’t seem to find how bees add to NYC’s economic value in your project. Do you mean that they add to the economic value indirectly by pollinating farms that sell products in NYC? If so, then why did the project not focus on bee populations in those areas too?
