We studied the relationship between the populations of the invasive spotted lanternfly (SLF) and tree-of-heaven (TOH), which SLF uses to feed and reproduce, in NYC parks. We graphed and mapped observations of both species from the iNaturalist database. We found that there was a biological and geographical relationship between SLF and TOH, but we only found a weak correlation between the populations of both species. We would like to explore the geographical relationship between these species more and observe SLF to understand why its population is not strongly correlated to TOH.
