After completing the 2022 BioBlitz, we noticed there were many insect-plant relationships based on the data collected collectively and our visual observations. Two of these relationships were between the milkweed plant and milkweed beetle, and the tree of heaven and the spotted lanternfly. We wondered whether there is a relationship between the abundance of the plant and the insect dependent on them, and whether this relationship was the same when looking at invasive/introduced or indigenous plant-insect pairs.
